Local Events

The 57th annual San Clemente Fiesta Street Festival takes place on Sunday, August 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mark your calendars and make your way to quaint Avenida Del Mar in “The Spanish Village by the Sea.”

Thirty-six local non-profit service organizations will participate in the Fiesta Street Festival offering an array of international foods and game booths. By participating in the Fiesta, these local organizations have the opportunity to raise funds for various charitable causes in the community.

Live Entertainment
The event presents three stages of continuous live entertainment. Headlining bands include: 2footonion-1st Marine Division Rock Band, Liquid Blue, Southland Mega Groove, Crucero-Navy Band Southwest and Poison Ivy. Taking the stage throughout the day are Breaking Point, Ugly Paint, Twice Fooled, Beyond Conception, Quick Chase, The Tails, JahRootSalem, The Dreams, ER/DH (DJ & Drummer Combo), Dubluva, Alpha Prevail, The Delta 88s and Beach Cities Harmonizers.

The Boys & Girls Dance Troupe, Solid Hip Hop Dance Crew and San Clemente Dance & Performing Arts Center will offer performances at the Festival. Clowns, Jugglers and Face Painters will be on hand mingling with the crowd.

Contests and events at the Street Festival are open to participants of all ages. Some of this year’s fun includes: Baskin-Robbins® Brain Freeze Ice Cream Eating Contest, Costco® Diaper Derby, Cassano’s Pizza Eating Contest, Tortilla Toss, Easter Egg Hunt, Piñata Contest, Pie Eating, Pickle Eating, Jump Roping and Hula Hooping.

Fun for Everyone
Admission to the Fiesta Street Festival is free and a complimentary shuttle service will be available from the SunCal-Marblehead property (Ave. Vista Hermosa exit off the 5 Freeway, West toward the beach into the Marblehead Development). The shuttle will run from 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Please refrain from bringing dogs or Styrofoam to the event.

Salsa Challenge

The ever-popular “Salsa Challenge” is back and hotter that ever! The City’s finest salsa makers, restaurants and local residents, will convene under one roof presenting their best salsa to be judged by the public and official festival judges. Awards will be given in the following categories: 1st place Best Individual, 1st place Best Restaurant, 1st place Best Decorated Booth Individual, 1st place Best Decorated Booth Restaurant, 1st, 2nd & 3rd place People’s Choice Individual and 1st, 2nd & 3rd place People’s Choice Restaurant. Public tasting for this event starts at 10:00 a.m. and winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m.

Arts & Crafts Exhibit
The Fiesta will feature an arts & craft show. This exhibit showcases only hand-crafted merchandise from talented individuals throughout Southern California.

Classic Car
& Motorcycle Show

Auto buffs will want to visit the Classic Car Show sponsored by S.C. Rider Supply. Vintage cars from all over Southern California and as far away as Arizona enter the show. Trophies will be awarded in several categories. In addition, the Fiesta hosts a Motorcycle Show where you can view some of the hottest bikes in the area.

Children’s Activities
There are many special activities for children of all ages, from a petting zoo to balloon art and face painters. Thrills will abound on the Lagoon of Doom and the Adrenaline Rush. Water, log jammer, and rocky mountain slides will also provide good times throughout the day.

Exhibits
The U.S. Marines, U.S. Navy & U.S. Air Force will all be displaying vehicles and information at the Festival. Other exhibits from the Pet Project Foundation, U.S. Border Patrol, 97.1 AMP Radio, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, San Diego Gas & Electric, Anaheim Duck’s Hockey, the Stimulator and more will be on hand. The Oscar Mayer Mobile and Rolling Memorial for Firefighters Truck will also be featured this year.
